OUR STORY

 1. Story Elements:

  • Goal of the Better World Project: The primary goal was to rejuvenate the swimming program, enhancing community engagement, and promoting team spirit through innovative training modules and community outreach initiatives.
  • Project Details: The project, named "Liberty Storm and MCSA Project", was a comprehensive revamp of the existing swimming program, integrating contemporary training methods, recreational activities, and community engagement programs.
  • Involvement and Impact: Leading head coaches, MCSA members, swimmers, and parents were directly involved. The broader community, potential new team members, and other stakeholders were significantly impacted.
  • Timeline: The project spanned over 18 weeks, broken down into various activities and milestones, each building upon the previous one.
  • Location: The project was undertaken at the Metropolitan Community Swimming Association (MCSA) facilities.
  • Reason for the Topic: Given the declining interest and participation in the swimming program, there was a dire need to revitalize the program, making it more inclusive, competitive, and engaging.
  • Challenges Faced: Integrating the new training modules without disturbing the ongoing sessions, resistance from a few stakeholders to change, and ensuring broad community engagement were some of the main challenges.
  • Project Outcomes: A 25% increase in team registration, 90% positive feedback from stakeholders, an evident boost in team spirit and performance, and a 30% uptick in community involvement in MCSA activities.
